No, you do not need to have a Lasting Power of Attorney for Property and Financial Affairs to have a Sibstar card.
Here's how we can help:
Sibstar for someone who needs full support: If you are supporting someone who already has a Lasting Power of Attorney* or other relevant legal documentation (e.g. Enduring Power of Attorney, Court of Protection etc.), you can sign up to Sibstar. The person you are supporting just has the Sibstar debit card, and you, their supporter, has the Sibstar app and manage everything for them.
Sibstar for someone who needs a little help: If you are starting to find managing money tricky, or are concerned about falling victim to fraud and scams, you can sign up to Sibstar with someone else. You have the Sibstar debit card and app, but your Supporter can also have the app, so you can manage Sibstar together.
Sibstar just for you: Sibstar can help you help yourself. You use both the Sibstar card and app, setting all of the functionality by yourself.
